Laser deep engraved
Wood was stained and clear coated first

After pearl white paint fill

Fractal deep etch and fill

The wood was first stained and then spray painted with clear coat although on this one it should have had some more coats and sanding to make a totally smooth face. This will make the paint infill much easier to do with a “squeegee” card to clear off the excess paint. Small surface smears can be cleaned up with solvent after the paint has dried. The “engraving” should have some good depth to it and not just a surface marking as you would normally do for just laser engraved art. Too much though and you can easily punch through thin materials.

Below is the PNG artwork file I used for this project. This is a manipulation of an image found online and as such I do not know it’s origins or who to credit for the original fractal generation. Click on this image to access the full scale version.

On my laser, engraved design with 32% power at 1000 mm/min.
