Pixie Lamp

A work in progress incorporating a blown glass globe with interior strands of UV reactive color glass. Each one is illuminated by a uv led light and the timing is controlled through an Arduino MEGA board. Below the globe is a RGB led which presently is color controlled with one of the three knobs. This and the other knobs are inputs to the Arduino code. One controls the duration of each on time pulse and the other is adjusting the fade to off time. The code at the heart of this is a “flash / fade”.

The round “gear” base is black acrylic cut with a diode laser engraver along with some wood components also cut and engraved. In the background is a sample piece of a fractal image deep engraved into wood and then paint filled.
